3rd-5th Grade

Beautiful Savior offers a Christ-centered, collaborative approach to middle elementary grade education. The goal is to provide learning experiences that support children’s spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development. Students have opportunities to participate in co-curricular activities and demonstrate leadership skills through daily classroom activities. Independent work skills and collaboration are both taught and used throughout the school year to prepare students for the years to come.

There are eight major areas of instruction in 3rd-5th grade. These are language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, religious study, the arts, physical education, and music. The activities that students participate in include, but are not limited to:

-Involvement with art history, medium variety, techniques, and skill development
-Practicing reading, spelling, vocabulary, penmanship, grammar, and writing
-Students will learn elementary mathematics
-Participating in listening, theory, rhythm, and singing
-Students will be introduced in fitness skills and sports
-Students will participate chapel, devotions, Bible history, and hymnology
-Studying Geography, history, and Ohio state history
-Learning about earth, life, physical, and health

Spanish and technology are also part of our class schedule. Spanish exposes the students to different cultures and leads to an appreciation of language while technology creates constructive digital citizenship.

In the multigrade 3rd-5th setting, students have several different teachers for their classes. The main subjects are taught by the homeroom teacher. Subjects may be split into grades 3ʳᵈ-5ᵗʰ, 3ʳᵈ-4ᵗʰ, 5th-6th, or in single grade classes. Our teachers gear their instruction to meet the needs of all students regardless of class structure.

The 3rd-5th graders work to be family-oriented, goal-getters, and encouragers. The classroom is designed to promote positive learning experiences in a safe, Christ-centered environment to lead students to be examples of our miracle worker, Jesus.

Hello and welcome! I was born and raised in Wisconsin but moved with my family to Auburn, WA, during high school. I recently graduated from Martin Luther College with a degree in Elementary Education as well as a minor in Communication Arts and Literature and Urban Ministry. I was assigned to Beautiful Savior on May 17th, 2025 and am looking forward to beginning my ministry and serving such a wonderful congregation!

As I begin my call, I am excited to get to know my students, their families, and members of the congregation and community. During my teaching experiences at MLC, I focused on creating consistency in the classroom while maintaining a safe and fun learning environment. I look forward to implementing the skills I have learned as well as continue to improve and grow as a teacher to best serve my students. I aim to create a learning environment that invites students to grow academically, socially, and most importantly an environment where students learn about their Savior and His love for them.
